Ministry of Health, Brunei Darussalam
The Ministry of Health is the main agency responsible for direct or indirect delivery of health care, health care information and all health care-related services in Negara Brunei Darussalam and is headed by The Minister of Health. There are three major groups of service provider in MOH organisation structure; Ministry proper/ central, health services and medical services.
1. Ministry proper/ central
At the ministry proper, there are four major departments namely Department of Policy and Planning, Department of Administration and Finance, Department of Estate Management and Department of Health Care Technology. These departments are responsible carrying out the functions related to formulation of health policies and strategies, monitoring and evaluation, production and development of health personnel, and management of information system. Each of these departments is headed by a Director. |

Department of Policy and Planning is responsible for the development, implementations and monitoring of national health strategic plan, analysing and evaluating health system policies and to provide functions of public relations and health related international affairs. Divisions under the Department of Policy and Planning are Public Relations, International Affairs and Research and Development. |

The Department of Administration and Finance is responsible for administration and personnel and procurement and supply. Division of Human Resource Development, Human Resource Management, Procurement and Supply and Finance sections are the main sections under The Department of Administration and Finance |

The Department of Estate Management is responsible for the management and planning of Ministry of Health’s estate which comprises of the National Development Projects and building and vehicle maintenance. |

The Department of Health Care Technology is responsible for all aspects of biomedical and physics engineering; Risk Management Centre; and health information and communication technology, which include the activities of
- advisory and consultation
- selection and evaluation
- incoming inspection and acceptance
- preventive maintenance and breakdown repair
- user and technical training
- replacement |

2. The Public Health Services
The Health Services Department consists of Community Health Services, Environmental Health Services and Scientific Services and is headed by a Director General. These services perform the functions related to protecting and improving the health of communities through education, promotion of healthy lifestyles, and research for disease and injury prevention.
3. The Medical Services
The Medical Services Department consists of Hospital Services, Nursing Services, Pharmaceutical Services, Clinical Laboratory Services, Dental Services and Renal Services, is headed by a Director General. Each of the departments under the Medical Services is headed by a Director.
